Mrs. Susie G. Tazwell

Tazewell was born on September 17,1932 in Charles City County Virginia to the late Andrew & Alberta Thompson. She was educated at Charles City County Schools. At a early age she accepted Jesus as her personal savior, and there after she was baptized. Evangelist Susie G. Tazewell was the founder of the Charles City prayer band, and have traveled across the country to open up for many great artist such as “The Clark Sisters” and “Maggie Ingram” just to name a few. She had a great love for wrestling, feeding the hungry, and when she talked about God it brought great conviction to many, and a change to everyone. She was one of the first African American women to style, and sell wigs in the area. The first church she attended was Jerusalem Baptist Church in Charles City, Virginia under the leadership of the late Pastor Bolden Bradly. While serving at Jerusalem Baptist Church she began to work in many capacities such as singing in the senior choir, working on missionary board, and was faithful to cleaning Gods house. She later than became a faithful member at Fellowship Church in Providence Foge, Virginia under the leadership of Pastor Eddie P. Jones Jr. she continued working in the vineyard while serving as a devotion leader, and intercessor. Later on Evangelist Susie Tazewell joined Bethel Bibleway which is now known as Bethel Restoration Center under the leadership of Apostle John Gray Sr. and was one of the church mothers known for her stern discipline, and loving hand “THE BIG BLACK HAND”. Later on she returned back to Jerusalem Baptist Church and went back to serving until she became ill. She was the mother of seven beautiful children Brenda Mayo; Jerald Thompson (Carolyn Thompson); (the deceased sergeant first class) Deborah Robinson; Euricka White; Cathy Folorunso; Cynthia Tazewell; and Wheeler Tazewell. Evangelist Susie Tazewell has twenty grandchildren, twenty seven great-grandchildren, and two great-great, children. She had a devoted cousin Louise Stone. She has been so many things to so many people. She has been a Proverbs 31:10 women “Who can find a virtuous woman? For her price is far above rubles.
